The Word Family Business.
For three generations, the Word family has sourced the finest in British and European antiques. With a long-standing family tradition of selecting pieces based not only on their beauty, but their distinctive design, fine materials and old world craftsmanship, the Words’ broad base of experience and expertise continues to grow.
After years of working alongside his father, William Word opened his first small shop in Atlanta in 1972. Now, William Word Antiques’ 16,000 square-foot gallery is a cornerstone of Atlanta’s Buckhead Antique District. William’s twin daughters, Kathryn and Emily, share the family’s passion for the business. After having gained experience with other antiques showrooms, Kathryn and Emily now work alongside their father, providing their own unique perspective and expertise on local and international sourcing trips.
While the scale of the business has grown, William Word Antiques continues to rely on the passion, knowledge and expertise of the Word family in every hand-selected, exceptional piece.
Brian Bland, an honorary member of the Word family, has worked for William Word Antiques for over 15 years. Mentored by William, Brian shares his passion for the fine art of restoration – from respect for the original craftsmanship and materials, to their shared eye for detail, workmanship and fine finishing.
